The Spottedroid, which is native to Asia and quickly became a US resident in 2021, actually takes up trees, crops, grass, hop fields, flowers, and just about any green plant in their path, as well as any animal that live in or on those fields. Though they don't sting or bite, they can very quickly swarm humans, creating a real problem in many cities around the country. As the Spotted has become more aggressive over time, particularly in its later stages of infestation, cities have been trying to find a way to get rid of them. As many as three hundred people a day are usually seeking help to rid themselves of the Spotted Antelope.
While there are many different treatments to attempt at killing these pests, the most common one is to use a product called Spotted Duct Tape. The Spotted Duct Tape traps the insects underneath the sticky paper, preventing them from being released and allowing them to suffocate. This method can be used in two basic ways - either to cover the entire perimeter of the Spotted Antelope's home, or to apply the sticky paper to a smaller area. Many have had success by applying the sticky paper to their ants first, covering the area that needs to be treated, and then manually removing all the insects that have been trapped beneath the paper. This has proven to be the most effective method of extermination for Spotted Antelope.
Other methods include using insecticidal sprays to rid the home of the Spotted Antelope, or the more traditional method of introducing insecticide-laced bait to attract the bugs. Either way, Spotted Lanternflies will still need to be trapped and removed from the habitat in which they have taken up residence. Today, you may place lanternflies in a jar and add some dish soap to the jar; once the insects have settled in and begin feasting on the dish soap, they will likely not be able to escape. In order to get the best results from your Spotted Antelope trapping efforts, be sure to carefully follow all of the Spotted Antelope guidelines - including washing and cleaning the bait, the application of the sticky paper, and the trapping and removal of the pests.
